A group shot of the Coronation Street cast has been released with just hours to go until the programme goes live on ITV as part of the channel’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

The photo shows all of the 47 cast members involved in the live episode, including Kym Marsh, Jack P Shepherd, Paula Lane and Tina O’Brien, posing on the iconic cobbles with a Coronation Street Live 2015 clapper board.

The cast and crew have had two weeks of rehearsals and will undergo a final dress run before they go live at 7.30pm tonight (Wednesday 23rd September).

But as the group prepare for the mammoth episode and all possible worst case scenarios, it's emerged that the live show could be in trouble already.

Why? Well, because of Manchester United's home game against Ipswich, which kicks off nearby at 8pm - 30 minutes into the show.

Old Trafford is well within earshot of the soap's Salford set, so the sound team will be desperately trying to make sure that any noisy goal celebrations or chanting do not drown out the drama unfolding in Weatherfield.

A show source told The Mirror: “No one could believe it when it dawned on them what was happening. There has been a great deal of black humour around the place.

“Everyone is crossing their fingers and everything else in the hope United do not score in the first half an hour.”

However the Corrie team have dismissed the rumours, with a spokeswoman telling the Daily Star: “There have been matches on many times when we have been filming over the two years we have been here.

“Noise from Old Trafford has never been an issue before.”

Fingers crossed, eh!

Coronation Street's live episode will air on Wednesday on ITV at 7.30pm
