Halloween sure will be eventful for Maria next week when she returns home after visiting her gay husband Pablo in London.
Coronation Street fans will know that Maria is aware Pablo is gay but she married him in Cyprus so that he could get a visa and move to London to be with the man he loves Ash.
And while Maria has been in London - after Pablo's solicitor told him if he wants to stay in the UK she needs to see Maria and Pablo together – Caz creates havoc in Maria's life. From telling Tyrone that Maria has been sending her abusive messages to leaving her ex-fiancé Kate Connor worrying voicemails it's not going to look good when Maria returns and Caz is missing…
When Maria returns to the cobbles and sees her house in a wreck and blood on her walls she thinks her brother Kirk has played a prank on her but soon realises she's wrong.
Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria, has revealed that her character is mortified when she's accused of being related to Caz's disappearance: "She knows she has done nothing wrong. She also feels so angry because she knows she hasn't touched Caz, so to be accused of being involved in her disappearance makes her feel frustrated.," publication.
The actress also revealed when the police arrive at her flat Maria is confident everything will be sorted because she knows Caz has caused the damage: "That's what she says to the police – Caz has done this on purpose. Maria knows that Caz is a little crazy, but at this point I don't think she realises the full extent of how crazy she actually is."
And when Maria's past of stalking Tyrone is brought up (when she pretended she was his abusive ex-girlfriend Kirsty Soames via text to get closer to him), Fiz and Tyrone tell the police things and Kate who is adamant that Maria is involved talks to the police it doesn't look like things are in Maria's favour.
After reading the scripts Samia admitted that she's not sure how Maria will get out of this one: "It's just horrible, awful and the only person who is actually there for Maria is Aidan."
Viewers will know Maria slept with her best friend, Eva Price’s, boyfriend Aidan Connor and in our Coronation Street Christmas spoilers an insider hinted that Aidan's feelings for Maria intensifies – so will Caz make Maria and Aidan grow closer?
Either way, Samia teased that the storyline is going to get even worse: "Maria's fears may turn into a reality.
"It won't be a happy Christmas for her."
