Coronation Street's David Platt sure has had it rough over the past few months.

Before he could have his happily ever after, his wife Kylie Platt died in his arms after being stabbed by thug Clayton Hibbs and now it looks like David (Jack P. Shephard) is ready to kill Clayton's half-brother Macca.

In upcoming scenes, viewers will see David discover that the Dog and Gun are celebrating Clayton's birthday (while he's in prison) and an angry David goes to confront Macca (Gareth Berliner). But things don't go all to well for the widower...

However, after Nick warns him to stay away from Macca, David doesn't listen and decides to visit Macca in hospital, after he suffered from a head injury.

So as David stares angrily over Macca, will he kill him?

David has had a violent past; he's previously pushed his mum Gail down the stairs, hit a policewoman and has been manipulative to pretty much everyone on the street.

And without Kylie being there to keep him on the right track, we're pretty sure he'll do just about anything to get revenge…

But if David does kill Macca, we doubt he'll be leaving the street anytime soon. According to The Sun, Jack P. Shepherd has recently signed a six figure deal.

A source told The Sun: "Everything is being looked at to steady the ship and try and keep people happy after a rather large number of people decided to leave – but Jack was a priority and that's why we are being told he has been told he will be a mainstay character and rewarded with this deal.

"He is only in his late 20s and after being in the show for some sixteen considerable years he has been recognised as a real integral part of Corrie – with the dysfunctional Platt family set to be projected as Weatherfield's number one clan."
