In upcoming scenes, a gas explosion in EastEnders is set to cause terror in the square

It's all set to kick off in EastEnders after a gas explosion takes place on the square and at least one character will be left dead.

There's been a lot of drama happening in EastEnders at the moment; Steven Beale is still manipulating his fiancé Lauren Branning, Phil dropped a bombshell that he killed Jay's dad Jase and of course, Max is still plotting revenge against the entire square.

However, more drama is about to ensue after everyone on the square gather together for their community Walford in Bloom event. Things take a dramatic turn when a gas explosion goes off which will leave at least one character dead and many others fighting for their lives.

Not only that but the rest of the residents will finally discover what Max has been up to since he first returned to the square after being wrongfully imprisoned for killing Lucy Beale.

We're relieved it's not going to last three years as it was previously reported…

The exciting scenes that are set to change the square will play out on our TV screens in September. A source has teased that viewers will be kept in the dark on whether someone started the fire or whether it's an accident. They told The Sun: "It's a bold stunt and has taken months of planning.

"It’ll trigger a load of other storylines off the back of it, but the explosion itself will be a major talking point.

"Viewers will be left wondering whether it was set off on purpose or by accident, and bosses are staying tight-lipped about who will die but at least one is looking like they will."

They added: "Fans will be hoping it’s not one of their favourites who is being killed off."

SO MUCH DRAMA.

We already know that Aaron Sidwell, who plays Steven Beale, is leaving the show very soon after EastEnders actors accidentally let it slip on social media. Over the past few months we've seen Steven manipulate Lauren into thinking he's dying from a brain tumour, he slept with her sister Abi and he poked holes in his condoms in hopes to get his girlfriend pregnant.

Even though Lauren's dad is aware of how evil Stephen is we've all been left wondering whether Max (who is hell-bent on revenge) will end up killing Stephen.

Elsewhere on the square, Phil recently told Jay he killed his dad Jase but we soon discovered he was lying after having a secret conversation on the phone, but could Jay be killed off? He did recently admit on This Morning that he would love to stay on the show but he could be pulling wool over our eyes…

And don't forget that ambulance crash we saw earlier this month that involved the Carters, will there be trouble for one of our favourite families on the square?

Eek!
