Are EastEnders lining up a new romance for Max Branning?

It looks like the legendary lothario is back to his old ways...

Max Branning Michelle Fowler romance

Could Max Branning get friendly with Michelle Fowler over the New Year? Or will be try his best to reunite with his former flame Stacey Slater?

After both Michelle and Max returned to Albert Square over the Christmas period, the popular EastEnders characters are still holding back a lot of secrets from us all.

With Max delcaring himself a 'new man' who is trying his best to make amends with his entire family (and the Beales?) and Michelle not giving away any details about the reasons behind her return after nearly two decades away from Walford – could the two characters be about to spill their secrets to one and another.

In a trailer for the explosive New Years episodes, we see Michelle introducing herself to Max in the cafe. With Max's track record with women, will this mean we'll see the two of them get closer?

And in a brand new trailer for an upcoming episode, we see a fuming Martin catch former lovers Max and Stacey gossiping about the fact Michelle was clearly flirting with the devilish car salesman on a night out in the Queen Viv...

Max's return is clearly bringing jealously out of Martin, so should he be worried about history repeating itself?

Or will he warn his sister about Max's ways before anything saucy happens?

We'll have to wait and see...

Would you like to see Max and Stacey back together again? Or should Stacey stick with Martin for the sake of her own happiness?
