EastEnders fans were surprised to see Michelle Fowler back in Albert Square over the Christmas period (and not only becasue she has a completely new face now that she’s played by actress Jenna Russell instead of Susan Tully).
Michelle waltzed back into Walford claiming she was simply back to see her friends and family, but it seems there’s more to her return than meets the eye.
In recent episodes, Michelle has been seen clashing with Stacey Fowler who clearly wishes her sister-in-law would go back to Florida, where she has been living.
On Monday Stacey asked when Michelle’s return flight was, pointing out that she should be packing up her belongings soon.
But it seems Michelle is in no hurry to make a move back to the United States.
But what is she hiding? And why is she really back?
An episode of the BBC soap due to air on Thursday 12 January will focus on Michelle and her comeback.
Talking about Michelle's return, EastEnders executive producer Sean O'Connor recently told Digital Spy: "One particular reason for bringing her back now is that one of the key relationships in the show is that between Michelle and Sharon.
"We knew them as young tearaways in the mid '80s. So I was very interested in the idea of what they're like as they approach their 50s."
