EastEnders viewers have been furiously slamming Abi Branning after watching her fake a pregnancy to entrap her boyfriend, Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid).

Well aware that Ben is gay, and desperate to keep him by any means possible, Abi turned to Aunt Babe - who, unbeknownst to the teen, used to bully pregnant girls and sell their babies on.

Now Abi is in a very difficult situation indeed, as Ben does believe that she is pregnant with his child.

So, when she turns to Babe for help, it seems as if Abi is only going to land herself in even more trouble.

Speaking in a recent interview, Lorna Fitzgerald explained that Abi is “vulnerable”, which is why she was so easily manipulated by twisted Aunt Babe (Annette Badland).

"She went along with Babe's idea and only later realised the repercussions,” the 19-year-old soapstar told Radio Times.

“Abi now realises that she has to get pregnant.

“It's the only thing that will make her dream come true.”

With Aunt Babe’s shady background in clear evidence to everyone but Abi, fans of the show have been left wondering exactly what Aunt Babe will convince her to do.

But it’s safe to say that, with Ben’s upcoming STI diagnosis, Abi won’t be able to have sex with him anytime soon.

How will she get pregnant in time?

Abi added: “She's very scared because she knows that Ben doesn't want to be with her anyway.

“She wonders if she can actually go through with the plan, so expect lots of anxious acting.”

It remains to be seen whether Abi will try to fall pregnant by other means - or whether Babe will bully her into doing something she truly regrets.

However Lorna recently told Digital Spy that she is personally hoping for Abi to reunite with her ex boyfriend, Jay (Jamie Borthwick).

She said: "Jay was her first boyfriend and he dumped her for Lola, so she never really got over that.

"I think that's why she's so eager to stay with Ben because he's the closest thing she will ever have to Jay. Everyone loves Jay - they all want Abi and Jay back together."

EastEnders continues tomorrow night (Thursday) on BBC One at 7.30pm.
