Emmerdale actor John Bowe has taken to Twitter to slam soap bosses after discovering his character was going to die.

John, who plays Lawrence White on the ITV show, really is not happy with how the character is going to make his exit.

It was rumoured Lawrence was going to be shot and killed by his grandson Lachlan and John confirmed that he would be leaving in a series of social media messages.

John responded to voiceover actress Kate Harbour who tweeted her delight about an upcoming career opportunity.

She wrote: “Thankfully even though a few doors have closed recently, one has just miraculously flung itself open and is inviting me in. #actorslife #whoknew yay!”

John replied: “Good luck, Kate. I’m still reeling from the door that’s just been slammed in my face. I shall get up, dust myself down, etc. #actorslife.”
