Emmerdale's Rhona goes to the police about new husband Pierce's violent attack
There were some harrowing scenes in Emmerdale last night (Monday) when Rhona Goskirk and Pierce Harris' wedding day ended with a brutal sexual assault on the new bride. As fans know, Pierce has pushed the boundaries of consent a few times before but it became blurred as to what Rhona felt about it. But there was no doubt after last night's episode that he raped her.
The newly-weds argued over Rhona's drunken kiss with ex-husband, Paddy. Pierce was furious when he spotted Rhona wearing a necklace that had been Paddy's mum's.
As the row escalated, Rhona said she was done, agreeing that Vanessa was right about Pierce.
Her friend had said he was controlling, jealous and manipulative and Rhona said she was leaving.
Pierce raged that she wouldn't walk out on him, before forcing her to the floor and raping her. Rhona could be heard crying: "No, I don't want this!"
Tonight's episode sees a devastated, yet brave Rhona report the attack to the police. But will she name her attacker?
