So your character is tipped from some gripping storylines in weeks to come, what can we expect from Grace?

Well poor Trevor has obviously gone down for the Gloved Handed Killer’s crimes, and Grace knows deep down it wasn’t him. She knows him better than anyone so I think she’s now desperately trying to prove he’s innocent.

The REAL Glove Handed Killer has different ideas, and wants to frame him, to get off the hook. Grace will have to hunt for clues while she pieces the whole puzzle together.

Tamara plays Grace Black in the soap

What’s the turning point that will help her find the truth?

She’s going to come across the drawing that little Charlie has drawn and that’s when it will all click for her - Charlie has seen something that could help get to the bottom of the whole matter.

Grace being Grace though goes about it in a very aggressive way, and she kidnaps Charlie, taking him back to her house to try and get information from him.

At the moment Charlie isn’t speaking though, so how far she will get remains to be seen.

How do you enjoy playing Grace as a character?

When Grace first got here she was just a bit one dimensional. And then she went through a big old change and then we got to see her heart.

I’ve got a great storyline coming up soon which I can’t tell you - but it shows she’s got some comedy to her, and because of the baby storyline she’s definitely become friendlier.

The best thing about her is that I still get to be the big evil baddie who’s not very nice, but at the same time, I get to be funny and I get to have a love story. I get to play all different things in one character.

'I want Grace to get married...all she wants is a normal life!'

What would you like to see grace do next?

Well I want Grace to get married! All she wants in the world is just to have a normal life. Which probably won’t happen for her- she’s a little bit of a freak.

But I think that all she wanted was the family she didn’t have. She’s got the baby now, finally, after a long, long time trying. I think it would be great if Grace and Trevor tie the knot and ended up happily ever after, but I’m not sure if that’s going to happen.

What’s been your favourite storyline to date?

Probably the car chase. It was literally the most fun I’ve had whilst I’ve been here. It’s Grace at her absolute maddest. When I watched it back and saw my facial expressions, I couldn’t have looked any uglier if I tried! It’s nice being outside on location and doing things that are a little bit different.

And what about other storylines elsewhere in the soap?

I think I loved watching the whole Gloved Hand Killer, and I adored watching the 20th anniversary with the three boys in the water stuff - moments like that just make you so proud to be part of the soap.

I would have been awful at it though - I’m terrified of heights. They would’ve had to have CGI’d me in there.

And of course, even though we’re all a really supportive bunch, there are always storylines where you think, damn I would have loved to have played that - but that’s just natural.

Hollyoaks is like one big family - especially as a lot of the cast aren’t from the area, so we’re not close to family and friends. If you have a down day - you’ve got so many people around you to pick you up and can call any one of them, that’s the lovely thing about it.

Tune into Hollyoaks weekdays from 6.30PM on C4.
