The 26-year-old’s dad Michael claimed he was working on taking the hit BBC comedy to the big screen.

While praising his son, Michael said they’re also trying to get his life story turned into a film – with Jack playing the lead role.

Michael told Radio Times: “I think Jack will end up being a very successful actor in film and television. I don’t think he will be playing Hamlet but he’s a great comic actor.

“He’s doing a film of Bad Education and a drama of my autobiography is still on the cards.

“It was Jack’s idea to play me, and I think that would be very good.”

Fans of Bad Education will remember how emotional the final episode was so the news of a possible return is very welcome.

Speaking previously of the third series, Jack said: “When we set out to write it, it was supposed to be the last one. But I don’t want to completely rule it out. It is left a little bit open.

Alfie Wickers and Form K

“One never wants to say never, but if it ended after this series, there’d be a degree of closure and you wouldn’t be unfulfilled.”

The last episode saw Jack’s character Alfie Wickers say goodbye to his beloved Form K, and he was just as upset by this.

He continued: “It was really emotional. It’s been three years [and] this could be the end. I cried when I watch it – it’s really sad.”

If the movie happens then Jack needs to work out a way for the whole of Form K to come back!
