Jean Slater is best known for being Stacey's mum, highlighting mental health problems and making a mean 'sausage surprise'.
However, Gillian Wright, the actress who plays Jean in the BBC1 soap admits she is worried she will be given the axe from the show for good.
Jean left EastEnders in 2013, but still makes the occasional appearances in The Square.
"I like bobbing in and out. At Easter I was in one episode and I’m really lucky to do that and I’d like to go back.' Gillian told the Eastern Daily Press.
"But with a new executive coming in I’m crossing fingers they don’t kill me off!"
It was recently confirmed that John York will be taking over EastEnders from Sean O'Connor's 12 month stint, which divided viewers and critics.
