Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas has revealed he didn’t eat for eight days and lost two stone while filming Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.

While chatting on ITV’s Lorraine, Ryan revealed how difficult it was to survive on the Celebrity Island, and spoke about his dramatic weight loss.

"We looked like old men and women walking around," he said. "You had to make sure you used whatever energy you had at the right time. It was such a struggle from start to finish.

"At first, we didn't have food, we ran out of water and the storms were relentless because you never knew when they would finish.

"You had to learn how to adapt very quickly and you had to realise how to survive without food for a long period time."

Ryan was extrememly vocal about how hard the show was, but one perk is that he managed to meet his current girlfriend, ex-TOWIE star, Lucy Mecklenburgh.

The pair are now in a relationship after growing close on the show. How cute. (There’s nothing like being thrown on an island without food to bring you together, right?!)

Speaking about his new relationship, Ryan added: "It was amazing to have Lucy there with me. We are of a similar age and she was a companion. It's nice having someone to look out for you.

"It was a real pleasure to have her there for me."

The Corrie star’s new relationship isn’t the only exciting news in his life, as its also been rumoured that he’s jetting off down under to appear in Neighbours. You can read more about that here.

However, when Lorraine asked him about the move to Australia, Ryan remained tight lipped. He said: "I keep getting all this all the time. I get the jungle, Neighbours...

"You know, Coronation Street has been a massive part of my life for 16 years and I'm constantly reminded of it.

"I was 16 when I started there, and it was a journey I went on with some amazing people."

Hmmm. That's not an outright denial though, Ryan.

Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls is on Channel 4 tonight (September 5) at 9.15pm.
