Can you believe Sabrina the Teenage Witch is 20 years old?!

To celebrate their anniversary, we’ve compiled our top 15 lessons that the show - and our favourite witch - has taught us...

1. Embarrassing moments are just that – moments. The minute they happen, people are already starting to forget…

Sometimes life doesn’t go your way, and sometimes you fart in your physics class in front of all your peers and your high school crush. That is, if you’re Sabrina.

In fact, Sabrina faced many embarrassing moments throughout the series but, as she would come to learn herself, they never last that long and are almost immediately forgotten about.

2. True friends will be there for you, no matter what

As friends go, Valerie and Harvey were pretty much golden.

Of course, the trio had their ups and downs but it was very clear that Sabrina had a good bunch of people around and, when she did finally reveal her secret, they still stood by her (after freaking out for a bit, understandably).

3. Love conquers all

Sabrina and Harvey where the Ross and Rachel of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and even though Sabrina looked ready to marry Aaron – and we mean white dress about to go down the aisle ready - Harvey shows up on a motorbike and whisks Sabrina away, proving that nothing can come between true love.

4. It’s ok to say no…

In one episode, Sabrina couldn’t seem to reject any invitation she received and ended up quadruple-booking and, subsequently, splitting herself into four to attend all events which ended in shambles.

She quickly learnt that sometimes ‘No’ is the right answer because life becomes almost impossible when you spread yourself too thin (or split yourself into four carbon copies).

5. Cats are a girl’s real best friend

Sure, humans are great. But cats seem to be just that bit better.

Salem was Sabrina’s friend/shrink/parent/body guard and more throughout the show proving that not only are cats truly incredible animals, but it’s perfectly OK to spend all your time having deep meaningful conversations with them.

6. Success which is earnt always feels better.

Sabrina was a witch so could basically conjure up a dream life for herself, no expense spared.

However, (after some guidance from her aunts/cat) she learnt that achieving things off your own back is far more rewarding than just cheating your way to the top.

7. Bullies are people too

Sabrina was tormented by her high-school bully, Libby, countless times during the show which always lead to a rather comedic take-down/revenge scheme.

However, while revenge is often fun, Sabrina realised that Libby was struggling with her own demons and was only human. Once she saw herself on a level playing field with her high school bully, Sabrina became immune to the bullying.

8. You don’t have to stop having fun when you’re an adult.

Hilda and Zelda could not be more polar opposites – Hilda the responsible one, Zelda the more care-free one.

But what is interesting is both sisters are seen getting into pickles and being rather daft, proving that being an adult doesn’t automatically mean you become boring and dull.

They are probably one of the more bizarre sister-duos to grace our televisions but that just makes them one of the best, doesn’t it?

9. Who wants to be normal?

The entire premise of the show highlights how being different is not a bad thing.

Here’s this teenager who lives with her aunts and their crazy cat, isn’t popular in school, struggles with boys and has high-school drama like the rest of us…oh, and she has magical powers.

Sabrina learns that being different is actually a great thing and that you should own who you are instead of trying to fit in with what society thinks is ‘normal’.

10. Education is important

You’d think that being a witch would mean Sabrina would be the ultimate school-skiver. Nope. Sabrina was a good student and rarely missed school.

Her aunt was a professor - so education ran in the family - but still, stay in school kids!

11. Everyone has a down day

Nobody is perfect. Even witches can’t always keep it together so if you’re feeling down, grab the ice cream and unapologetically cry until Ben and Jerry make it all better.

We’re pretty sure that’s what Sabrina would do.

12. Learn from your mistakes

The entire show is a huge learning curve for Sabrina and we see her make multiple mistakes which makes her feel like it’s the end of the world (sometimes it is).

But, just like in real life, mistakes provide the perfect opportunity for a life lesson and help you make the right decision the next time – unless you’re Salem and you never learn and constantly try to take over the world.

13. Your family are your rock

Although it may feel as though your family are just there to embarrass and annoy you (have you seen what chaos her aunts get up to?!), they are your best support system.

Sabrina struggled with a few more issues growing up than the average teenager, but her aunts were there for her 24/7, even when she disobeyed them.

14. Your school friends are not the only people you will ever connect with in life

The friendships you make in your teenage years often feel bulletproof and they may even last a lifetime.

But remember, if you do fall out with your friends, there are literally billions of people in the world who you will 100% gel with.

Sabrina’s best friend Valerie moved away during high school and, while Sabrina was heartbroken, she made life-long friendships when she went to college, proving that friends can be made anywhere.

15. Good will always conquer evil

One of the most dramatic twists in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch series saw Sabrina meet her evil twin, Katrina. This exciting dynamic resulted in various adventures for Sabrina and, while Katrina came very close to getting what she wanted, good always seemed to prevail.

So remember, if you ever feel like your evil twin is screwing things up for you, hang in there - because good always wins.
