Shayne Ward has revealed he's as unimpressed with his Coronation Street character, Aidan Connor, as the rest of us.
Weatherfield resident Aidan is in a relationship with Eva Price on the soap but has been cheating on her with Maria.
And Shayne does not like what his character has been up to on the show, insisting it is “wrong”.
He told the Metro: “He can’t justify it. At the end of the day, he has cheated on Eva.
“He knows what he’s done is wrong but he can’t understand why he’s done it.
“He doesn’t want to break Eva’s heart, but he doesn’t know what’s going to happen if he does take it further with Maria. So he’s really confused.”
Maria may end up in prison for Christmas as she heads to court for her sham marriage.
But, despite realising he’s in the wrong, Shayne thinks Aidan will feel sorry for her because he does “feel a lot” for her.
Meanwhile, Aidan could end up in a seriously tricky situation as Maria and Eva are growing close.
Shane said: “He trusts Maria not to tell her. He knows Maria. But Aidan is feeling guilty from the get go.
“He can see that Eva, being his partner, is trying to help Maria and trying to comfort her.
“He’s thinking, ‘I feel like a right dick in this, because I’ve obviously slept with her and this is my girlfriend and now they’re getting pally.’”
