Three things you’ll NEVER see in a Disney movie

We had no idea about this!

Disney Cinderella

We've seen a lot of emotional things in Disney movies; Bambi's mum dying, Finding Nemo's mum dying and of course Mufasa's death scene (which still breaks our hearts).

But we never knew Disney have banned a few things from their movies.

David Lowery, the director of a new movie, Pete's Dragon (a remake of the 1977 animated movie), has revealed that an updated version of Pinocchio has been ruled out because of the smoking scene. He confessed: "The scene in that movie that had the biggest impact to me was Pinocchio smoking a cigar and turning red.

He then revealed: "When you sign a contract with Disney, the things it says your film cannot have are beheadings, impalement or smoking.

"Those are literally the three things you are not allowed to put into a Disney film."

Looking back at all the Disney movies we sure have cried at a lot of scenes so we're happy those three topics are banned.

And even though in the past we've seen characters such as Cruella De Vil, Goofy and Pinocchio smoke, in 2015 Walt Disney's chairman and CEO - Bob Iger - revealed in a shareholder meeting: "We are extending our policy to prohibit smoking in movies across the board: Marvel, Lucas, Pixar and Disney films."

He added: "In terms of any new characters that are created for any of those films, under any of those labels, we will absolutely prohibit smoking in any of those films."

Although he did reveal there is an exception to the rule: "Except when we are depicting a historical figure who may have smoked at the time.

"For instance, we've been doing a movie on Abraham Lincoln, he was a smoker, and we would consider that acceptable."

Disney fans should be excited about the Peter Pan remake. David Lowery confessed: "We want to make a version that is true to people's memories of Peter Pan and those memories are much fresher because it's such a legendary story."

We can't wait to see Peter, Wendy and Tinkerbell again!
