With the weather taking an unpleasant turn from the weekend before, you may want to cancel your plans and catch up on some good old TV.

And there's plenty to watch this weekend - from side-splitting comedies to new series debuts.

Here'e what not to miss...

Friday 8th April

Lookalikes, 10PM, Channel 4

An entire new series, it’s not often you get Mr T, Posh ‘n’ Becks, Britney, Sharon Stone, David Brent, Cheryl and Harry Hill in the same room. Happily, C4 has fixed it for us to make this happen – even though they’re all jolly good lookalikes. In the start of a new series, Andy Harmer (aka David Beckham) decides his lookalike agency needs a rehaul so he goes on a recruitment drive, holding open auditions with the help of his pal ‘David Brent’. Yes, this is as marvellous as it sounds.

Saturday 9th April

Britain's Got Talent, 7PM, ITV

It's the start of the 10th series!

we have the fabulous auditions stage to look forward to when the crazies flock to the stage in their droves. Judges Simon Cowell (loving the designer stubble), Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams are back, with Ant n Dec on hosting / chortling duties. This year we’re told a dancing polar bear is in the offing, plus a one-man band on stilts, an “orchestra with a difference”, the world’s fastest tortoise and a magician brave enough to smash Simon’s phone…The winner pockets £250,000 (nice…) and a slot on this year’s Royal Variety Performance. Can’t argue with that!

This year, all four judges and Ant and Dec have the opportunity to fast track any act they think is utterly brill into the live semi-finals with the use of their special Golden Buzzer. Not the tortoise please!

The Voice UK, 7pm, BBC1

It’s the final, and we can’t wait to find out the winner. Blind auditions, battle rounds and knockout stages? Check. The final four have braved and conquered, and now there is just one night left, but it’s the biggie. In the grand final, the remaining singers must perform spectacular solos and sing a duet with their coach (ooh!) But the power lies with us at home, so get voting to choose the 2016 champion!

Johnny English Reborn, 8PM, Channel 4

Rowan Atkinson returns for more spying buffoonery. We join English in a remote region of Asia, where’s training in a monastery. But he’s soon called back to London when his bosses hear of an attempt on the Chinese premiere’s life. It’s down to English to root out corruption in the CIA, KGB and MI7. Which he doesn’t do very well, obvs.

Sunday 10th April

Wild Things, 7PM, Sky 1

Is there a more bonkers show on television? Probably not, which is exactly why this is well worth a watch of this new series. It’s a gameshow with a difference – people dress up as animals (and can’t see where they’re going), and try to navigate their way through a nature-based obstacle courses and daft games with the help of teammates who act as their eyes and ears. Or not, as the case may be judging by the amount of falling over and running into trees the contestants engage in. As ever, Kate Humble and Irish comic Jason Byrne talk us through the hilaire action.

James Franco pops up in the new series of this intriguing drama, based on the best-selling novel from Stephen King. Hunky James plays a schoolteacher who’s given a mission to go back in time to 1963 and to save US prez, John F Kennedy, from being assassinated. It’s a bit like Back To The Future without the hoverboards.

Home Fires, 9PM, ITV

With Bob back from the war – and lying injured in a hospital bed – Pat’s budding flirtation with Czech soldier has to be kicked into touch. Boo! Meanwhile, Frances also gets a shock when she finds out the contents of Peter’s will. More than she bargained for, it turns out.

The Durrells, 8PM, ITV

There’s drama on Corfu when Larry falls ill and it’s down to Theo and hot neighbour Sven to save his life. Concentrate Louisa – Sven may be hot but your child’s health is at stake!

Bride Wars, 4:10PM , E4

Best friends Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anna Hathaway) find that they’re scheduled to get married on the same day. That’s when their inner bridezillas start to emerge and suddenly it’s a full-on wedding war! Classic.
