Musical geeks unite - Wicked is returning to the stage!

It will be coming back to the Birmingham Hippodrome in April next year.

But you'll have to be quick if you want tickets - there will only be 31 performances of the show between April 4-29!

Michael McCabe, Wicked's executive producer, said: "We were overwhelmed by the incredible response from audiences and critics alike when we first brought Wicked to Birmingham in 2014. We're all really delighted to return to this truly magnificent venue."

When the show graced the boards in Birmingham last time during the summer of 2014, more than 110,000 people came to view the spectacle.

The Hippodrome's capacity is 1,850, and with only 31 shows, that could mean that just over half of the previous numbers will be able to see the show.

In case you didn't know, Wicked is based on a book by Gregory Maguire that serves as a prequel to The Wizard Of Oz - but with an alternative spin that shows the Wicked Witch of the West as a goodie.

The story tells how the Witch, Elphaba, is actually the best of friends with Galinda - or should we say Glinda the Good Witch. The two meet at school, and despite an initial rivalry, become super close. Unfortunately, we all know how it turns out in the end... Elphaba ends up under a house.

The two main roles were made famous by Kristin Chenoweth (Galinda), who you may recognise as April Rhodes from Glee, and Idina Menzel (Elphaba) who we're sure you'll know as the voice of Elsa in Disney's Frozen.

With beautiful songs like Defying Gravity and spectacles like One Short Day, Wicked is definitely not one to be missed.
