ITV Drama Footballers' Wives could make a big return to our screens, if a former cast member is teasing correctly.

The show that featured actor Gary Lucy as Kyle Pascoe, and was based on the fictional Premier League football club Earl's Park F.C. from 2002 to 2006, was popular with viewers when it aired the first time around.

And fans may soon be able to find out what the characters have been up to all these years if a reunion special is made.

Asked if the programme would made a comeback, Gary told Now: “Maybe in some form… watch this space is all I can say.

“It was an outrageous and fantastic thing to be a part of, so a reunion may be on the cards, you’ll have to wait and see.”

There may be some unpredictable storylines in a future season - not even Gary is ready to predict what his character has been up to lately, although he does suggest he may not have been on his best behaviour.

Gary said: “Kyle was last seen running from the police, so I have no idea what happened to them. Just sit tight and everything I said will make sense.”

The star currently plays Luke Morgan on soap Hollyoaks after 15 years away from the Channel 4 serial.

While Gary is pleased to be back on the set, he admits the return did stir up different emotions for him.

He said: “I had a mix of emotions really. The doubts and fears were only because I’m 16 years older and I haven’t got the eight-pack, sorry six-pack, I had.

“All the other whippersnappers have got them, so hopefully I won’t be sharing the screen too often with these young characters - especially if they’ve got their tops off.

“But to be perfectly honest, it was lovely. It’s like being home because I moved up there when I was 17, straight from school and did a lot of growing up there. They were very good to me and it’s still a fantastic place to be.”
