This Morning brought us a new study that reveals one in four British women will only have sex with the lights off, with similar results trending on their own ITV poll.

Rachel Greenhough joined hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to discuss her body confidence crisis and how it’s impacting her marriage.

Rachel hasn’t let her husband, John, see her naked in 13 years since losing a whopping 25 stone from a gastric band that left her with large flaps of sagging skin around her belly.

She admitted that anything but a pitch black room would stop her from having sex, despite her husband’s assurances that her appearance isn't an issue and that he loved her no matter what.

Rachel hopes to have the excess skin surgically removed on the NHS as she can’t afford the £32,000 price tag.

This Morning viewers slammed Rachel on social media for even suggesting the tax payer should pick up the tab for her unnecessary operation.

One tweeted: “Gastric Band Is Cheating! Why Should Our Tax Pay For More Surgery!!”

And another: “Why don't she raise it herself lots of people do it instead of living in self pity”

Some women were more sympathetic towards Rachel because of their own battle with loose skin after weight loss or pregnancy.

One tweeted: “I wish I had the money to pay Rachel :( u hope you realise how beautiful you are soon x”

And another: “I'd donate a couple of quid for that lady to feel better. No matter who you are, weight loss is a massive achievement...”

Others speculated about Rachel’s mental health and suggested that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a trained psychologist would be more beneficial in restoring Rachel’s self esteem.

How comfortable do you feel getting naked in front of your partner?

Do you have sympathy for Rachel and think the NHS should cover this kind of surgery?
