Wayne Bridge reportedly lied to his ex Vanessa Perroncel about heading into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle.
The footballer reportedly told Vanessa to ignore rumours he was heading Down Under to appear on the ITV show, according to The Sun.
Wayne will be missing his and Vanessa’s son’s tenth birthday which falls while he is away.
Vanessa is apparently concerned Wayne is putting his privacy at stake by appearing on the reality show.
A source told the newspaper: “Vanessa was offered the jungle six years ago and refused. When she text Wayne to ask him if it was true or not he told her to ignore the gossip.
“The gloves could come off, up until now she has refused many shows and interviews. That could be about to change.”
Wayne and Vanessa were together for five years before they split in 2009 after she allegedly had an affair with footballer John Terry.
The source added: “Wayne loved their privacy when they were together. He used to look unfavourably at people going on these shows and the intrusion they were inviting into their life, Canessa would have never thought Wayne would go on.”
