How to get shoulders worthy of showing off…

Summer is fast approaching, and here at Closer HQ we’re excited to get on board with one of this season’s biggest trends – the off the shoulder look. It might seem like a weird thing to think about, but your shoulders and décolletage (posh word!) have been under the cover of fabric for the last six months, hiding from the Vitamin D and sorely neglected, so how do you get them summer ready?

Exfoliate

It’s time to give them a good scrub and get rid of that dry, winter skin. Pick a product containing a natural exfoliant, like salt or sugar, and scrub in circular motions. If you’re looking for something a bit more heavy duty, try dry body brushing. This will also help boost your circulation.

Moisturise

Once you’ve got rid of all of those dead skin cells that belong in the dark days of winter, it’s time to bring the moisture back. Lather on something thick and luxurious, like a body butter, and give it plenty of time to sink in. Your skin will be feeling healthy and smooth and looking radiant in no time.

Get the glow

For a safe, subtle suntan, use a gradual tanner (carefully!) to add some colour to your shoulders, upper back and décolletage. This will give you a natural looking glow, just remember to use a tanning mit – no one wants streaky hands!

Highlight

Who said contouring was just for your face? Use a highlighter on the top of your shoulders and collar bone to add definition and that all important glow.

Strapless bra

There’s nothing worse than mismatches bra straps sticking out ruining your otherwise chic look. Invest in a good quality strapless bra that’s going to keep your assets in check all day and all night.
