A story about a dog who lost her puppies has broken hearts all over the internet
Just like humans, dogs can suffer miscarriages, and that's just what happened to this little lady.
She was pregnant with three puppies, but sadly lost them all, and like any expectant mum - human or canine - was obviously heartbroken.
Thankfully though, this doggy has a wonderful human who cares for her very much, and bought her three cuddly soft toys to try and fill her puppy-shaped void.
And as you can see by the pictures or her cuddling them as she sleeps, they seem to have given her some level of comfort.
The story came to light when 21-year-old American student Xavier Hernandez tweeted these two pictures of his pet, along with the caption: "so my dog was pregnant and she lost all 3 of her puppies so my mom bought her these toys and she thinks they're her puppies...breaks my ❤️"
And while we agree that it is utterly heartbreaking (seriously, someone pass the tissues!), we're very hapy that this bereaved doggy has such a lovely human mummy looking out for her.
