Remember that eerie time-travelling ghost? Well we’ve uncovered the truth…

A video shows a man passing through a glass door into a shop, and exiting a few minutes later in the same way

In the baffling CCTV footage, two people can be seen sleeping outside a shop late at night.

However, they are not the focus of this video; it's the man in the black hoody, who walks straight by them and THROUGH the closed shop door, that is.

Eep.

In the clip, eerie lights flicker as the man - or ghost, according to some viewers - passes through the apparently shut and locked door.

Seconds later, the hooded man is seen walking back through the glass door with what appears to be a snack from the shop.

One of the people sleeping outside the shop seems to be distubred by the events unfolding before him, as he gets up to investigate.

But the hooded man himself is not the spookiest thing about this footage.

If you watch the date in the top left corner, you will notice the year flickers between 2016 and 2019 when he walks in and out of the shop.

Could this camera have caught evidence of time travel... or of different dimensions?

YouTube viewers had mixed reactions about the CCTV footage, with one writing: “If there was another camera inside the store, then it might be more believable.”

“If it was a real spirit it wouldn’t need to steal food,” another added.

Some users however, wanted to believe in the footage, with one commenting: "If it was an edited special effect you would see irregular movement at the time clock. Unusually, it appears to be consistent.

"This one is hard to believe but looks like a hard one to fake... curious."

UPDATE: It turns out that the video was actually a teaser made by Empower Labs for their upcoming augmented reality mobile MMO game, Delta T.

Scheduled to be released in July 2016, Delta T will be a real time location-based strategy game, played over a layer of interactive maps, which can be downloaded on any smartphone or tablet.

Delta T stands for ‘difference in time’ – hence the time-travel in the YouTube video.

The game logo for the game can actually be seen on the left hand shoulder of the hooded man, if you look closely.

The video went viral and received more than 2.5 million views, so the creative team behind this promo video definitely did a great job!

What did you think of the CCTV footage? Did you believe it was a time travelling ghost?
