A HUGE baby born in Wellington, New Zealand, weighed 16lb 4oz - nearly double the size of an average baby
A woman has given birth to a GIANT baby boy in New Zealand.
The new arrival was born on Monday via caesarean section at Wellington Hospital weighing a whopping 16lb 4oz, which is more than double the size of the average UK baby.
In the UK, girls on average weigh 7lb 4oz, with boys weighing just a little more at 7lb 8oz.

The baby, whose parents wished to remain anonymous, was 57cm long.
His father was quick to confirm that they have already been exposed to the realities of new parenthood, saying: "He has a good set of lungs."
He added that the baby's size was confusing, saying: "We are not that tall ourselves, so we are not sure where his size has come from - at the moment we are thinking he's probably just a big baby."
The little boy is the mother's second baby. Her first son was also larger than average, weighing 11lb 8oz.

According to New Zealand's Ministry Of Health, the chunky monkey weigh roughly the same as a baby should when it is 20 weeks old.
His parents will be looking to skip straight past newborn clothes and go straight for things that would normally fit a six-month-old.
The Wellington baby is even heavier than the largest recorded birth in the UK - in 1992, a 15lb 8oz baby boy was born in Cumbria.
