Kate and Gerry McCann have pleaded with online trolls to stop writing hurtful comments about them.
They released a statement through the digital co-ordinator of their website and Facebook page, asking for people to think twice before writing comments about Madeleine McCann's family online.
The unnamed person, who is a friend of the family, uploaded a statement on a new section of the Official Find Madeleine Campaign page called Rules of the Road.

The guide is full of do's and don't's for being a part of the site.
Among many points on the list was: "Please do not feed trolls. Trolls feed on havoc and causing chaos. If we do not feed them they will starve for attention and hopefully spread their hate someplace else."
But one point was in bold red font and was much bigger than the others.
It read: "Please don't post your opinion on leaving children alone. Doing so will result in you being banned. No questions asked."
The statement ended with: "A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for supporting Gerry, Kate, Sean, Amelie and most of all, Madeleine. Let's get her home!"

Other rules on the page were: "You are not to post spam, sell anything or do any sort of recruiting on our page," "Do not ask questions about the investigation" and "Do not harass, insult, taunt, provoke, demean, or personally attack other people on the page."
These rules come at a tough time for the McCanns, as the funding for their police investigation will come to an end next month.
Operation Grange was granted a further £85,000 in March, and a Home Office spokesperson at the time said: "Following an application from the Metropolitan Police for Special Grant funding, the Home Office has confirmed £85,000 in operational costs for Operation Grange for the period 1 April until September 2017.
"As with all applications, the resources required are reviewed regularly and careful consideration is given before any new funding is allocated."
