A terminally ill 5-year-old boy was the guest of honour at the BBC's annual Sports Personality Of The Year show last night.
Bradley Lowery, from Blackhall near County Durham, attended the awards show at the Genting Arena in Birmingham and walked the red carpet as he entered the venue.
Little Bradley, who is a Sunderland fan, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma three years ago. Heartbreakingly, his condition is terminal.
The BBC contacted Bradley's family after seeing how much people took to him when he was the mascot at the Stadium of Light, and said they would "love to have him there" after seeing how he had "touched the hearts of the nation" and that he had a "wonderful, infectious smile".
Mum Gemma said: "It is such an amazing honour. We never expected anything like this at all. I really can't get my head around it.
"We are just a little family from a little village – it's amazing."
Bradley even got to meet many footballing heroes, including the interim England Manager, Gareth Southgate, who used to play for Watford FC.
He also met Gary Lineker, ex-footballer and sports presenter.
Bradley scored a penalty for his team, locally known as the Black Cats, in the warm-up against Chelsea on Tuesday night – and there is now a social media campaign for it to be named the official Premier League Goal of the Month.
Sunderland FC have very much gotten on board with Bradley's fight, and support him using their Twitter page.
And now some of the members of Watford FC have filmed a personalised video message for Bradley to show their support and to say they are all voting for him to win the Goal of the Month award.
