UK weather: Britain set for ‘Ibiza-style’ HEATWAVE this weekend!

Brace yourselves, everyone - summer is FINALLY coming…

Summer in the UK

We were all left absolutely baffled when we were hit by sleet, snow, torrential rain, and thunder storms in April 2016.

And it sparked a lot of talk about how the Great British summer was set to be a total washout this year.

However it seems as if we accepted defeat far too quickly.

According to new reports, summer is set to arrive with a bang this weekend, when a south-easterly wind delivers some much needed drier weather.

Even more exciting?

Temperatures are predicted to reach highs of up to 23C in some parts of the country… which means that we will legitimately have more sunshine than party island Ibiza, who are expecting highs of a measly 22C.

Take THAT, Ibiza!

Emma Boorman, a forecaster for The Met Office, said: “As we go into the middle and later stages of the week we start to bring in a south-easterly breeze allowing some warmer temperatures to arrive into the UK.

“By Friday and Saturday we are looking at temperatures in the high 20s, which will be a welcome change.”

Time to whip out the barbecue, we reckon…

However, as always, it’s worth taking all good weather forecasts with a big old pinch of salt.

So, while we suggest stocking up on suncream, you might want to keep your umbrella and wellies on standby - particularly if you live in the northern parts of the UK.

Because, if you read the small print on The Met Office, you’ll see that they add: “Cloud will increase for the northwest Saturday with outbreaks of rain, remaining sunny and warm with isolated thunderstorms elsewhere.”

Sigh.
