A woman in Oslo, Norway has spoken out about her experience of being trans-species, as she identifies more with being a cat rather than a human.
20-year-old Nano has said that the feels more feline than human female and expresses this through ensuring she always wears her headband with cat-like ears attached and a tail.
The young woman explained her story to NRK P3 Verdens Rikeste Land’s Youtube Channel in a 3:34 minute clip that has so far been viewed over 267,000 times.
Speaking her native language, the subtitles on the video read outline the following:
“I am Nano, 20 years old and I have been a cat all my life.
“I realised that I was a cat when I was sixteen, when doctors and psychologist found out what was the “thing” with me.
“Under my birth there was a genetic defect.”
She tells an interviewer that she was born the wrong species.
She goes on to explain that like a cat, she hears and sees things that other humans don’t detect, and that she is often compelled to hiss at dogs passing her in the street or park, due to her 'instincts' taking over.
Her other cat-like behaviour includes walking on all fours, meowing, steering clear of water and sleeping on windowsills.
Sadly, despite trying, she has never managed to catch a mouse.
She also introduces a friend during the clip who explains he wasn’t born a cat, but has a cat personality in his head, so therefore they can communicate with one another through meowing.
