An Indian lady has cut off a man’s penis who tried to rape her and has reportedly been sexually assaulting her for the last eight years.
The 24-year-old law student was in her residence in Southern Kerala, when the horrific incident happened.
The 54-year-old ‘religious guru’ who claims to be a spiritual healer is in a stable condition after reconstructive surgery.
Police chief G Spartan Kumar told AFP, ‘She used a knife in her defence and cut off his penis,’
‘The man, Hari Swami, was rushed to the nearby government hospital in a serious state.’
Pinarayi Vijayan, the state's chief minister, told reporters it was brave of the woman to take such action.
"It's a courageous and strong act by the woman," he said.
The woman is now under police protection and is receiving trauma counseling.
