Acid attack victim Molly Young has recounted the horrific incident during an appearance on This Morning.
The Scottish schoolgirl told how her clothes fell apart as the acid burned through them after a classmate put drain cleaner which contained sulphuric acid in her viola case.
The incident took place in November last year after Molly started dating the ex-boyfriend of a fellow school pupil.
She has sustained permanent scarring and suffered painful burns on her legs.
After returning to school from an appointment, Molly was told somebody had tampered with her viola case.
Molly told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning: “I took (my viola) off the shelf like I do three times a day and then my tights started to disintegrate.
“When I saw the holes in my tights I was like, what’s going on?”
Describing the horrendous feeling, she said: “It was like someone holding a blow torch to your leg.
“I couldn’t pull away because it was stuck to me and it just kept burning.”
Molly ran to find a teacher for help, adding: “I just kept saying, ‘it’s so hot, it’s burning.’”
The attacker is currently serving 21 months in prison after they were found guilty.
