There’s no point denying it; social media and smartphones have definitely changed weddings.
From wedding hashtags to photos cluttered with people holding up their mobiles to get that PERFECT snap, some people love mbiles at weddings - and others hate them.
However it seems as if mobile phones are a little more destructive at weddings than we thought, as it led to one groom dumping his bride ON THEIR WEDDING DAY!
According to Gulf News, the groom took the bride back to their hotel room for some alone time.
However he was less than impressed when she ignored him, choosing instead to text back friends and family sending messages of congratulations.
Hmm.
"Her groom tried to get closer with her and become more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words and action," an anonymous relative told Al Watan, a daily paper in Saudi Arabia.
They continued: “When he asked her about the reasons, she answered she was busy communicating with her friends who were congratulating her on her marriage on the mobile.
"The groom asked her to delay the messages, but she refused and became angry. When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were."
As you may have guessed, this firm reminder of the motto ‘hoes before bros’ did NOT go down well with the groom.
However it seems as if he doesn’t have a great temper on him.
Yup, you guessed it; his solution was to tell his bride that he was divorcing her, before storming out of the hotel room.
Apparently he was “too hurt in his pride” to forgive her, and the pair failed to sort things out.
To be honest, we reckon they’re better off without each other!
