Okay, so even if you don’t know what the Super Bowl actually is (‘er, it’s a big game, right?’), you will definitely have watched the half-time performances over the years. For most, the iconic 14 minute set is arguably one of the most-watched televised events of the year.

Who could forget Bey and her army’s ‘guest slot’ this year with her single Formation, stealing the show from headline act Coldplay? Previous half-time highlights also include an electric rain-drenched Prince in 2008 to Katy Perry and her crew putting on a standout show…with a bunch of dancing sharks, obvs.

But there’s one powerhouse singer who is not interested in partaking: Adele. The Hello singer revealed why she turned down the opportunity to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl half-time show in Houston during a recent gig in LA.

‘First of all, I'm not doing the Super Bowl,’ Adele said from the stage. ‘I mean, that show is not about music. I know I'm not Beyoncé, I can't dance or anything like that.’

Before adding: ‘They were really kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.’

Although Adele isn’t losing any sleep over a passed up opportunity, she did admit she’s missing out on a guilty pleasure to save her voice. And her reaction is the best.

‘I can’t eat pizza anymore guys, how bad is that,’ Adele confessed during her world tour. ‘Because it’s got cooked tomatoes on it which are bad for your throat and give you acid reflux. How bad is that, that I can’t eat pizza, can you get over that?’

‘I’m in America and I can’t eat pizza no more. It’s worse than Romeo And Juliet! If only Shakespeare was alive, he could write about it.’

Oh the possibilities. Forget lost loves, next up could be ‘an ode to pizza’ by Adele.

Just another reason the singer is our dream BFF.
