It’s a truth universally known that as soon as one Hollywood relationship ends, reports will start raging on about the said former couple’s next beau.
Though the same could not be said for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The former couple were married for under 18 months before they announced their split in May 2016, after Heard accused Depp of domestic abuse (which the 53-year-old actor denies). The divorce settlement reached its end in January when Depp agreed to pay Heard $7 million, which she has pledged to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
But it appears that Amber Heard has found love again. In the shape of tech billionaire dubbed the real-life Iron Man; Elon Musk.
The pair have known each other for years, but the romance rumourville went into overdrive months ago after it was claimed the actress was ‘smitten’ with the 45-year old head of luxe car company Tesla and commercial space travel firm SpaceX (hence the Tony Stark/Iron Man comparisons).
They both even posted his ‘n’ her snaps on Instagram of the pair enjoying dinner in Australia (where Amber is currently filming) with a red lipstick-stained Elon, which she captioned simply ‘cheeky’.
Amber’s father David told Grazia in last week’s issue that, ‘Amber and Elon are both very serious about each other. She would love to get married. One of the things they want to do is settle down and have a family.’
Though, of course, Elon has also had his fair share of relationship turmoil. Musk has six sons with his first wife Justine and has been married and divorced twice to British actress and author Talulah Riley (in case you were wondering: Riley and Musk first married in 2010. Split up two years later. Remarried again in 2013. And then Talulah filed for a second divorce in 2016, which was finalised in October. Got all that?).
‘Amber and Elon are very serious,’ said one source close to the family, speaking to Grazia anonymously. She wants to get married again and would love to get pregnant with him.’
The source adds: ‘Elon is great for her: he is very challenging and she loves the fact that he’s an intellectual. Her parents approve of the match and would love to see them get married and have a family.’
