Clueless’s Cher Horowitz is one of the most iconic – not to mention most stylish – film characters of all time, so it’s pretty tough to imagine anyone other than Alicia Silverstone delivering her extremely quotable lines.

However, in a new clip released by W Magazine, some of Hollywood’s leading men have channelled everyone’s favourite Alaia-wearing heroine in a fake audition for the role.

Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Seth Rogen and War and Peace’s Paul Dano all read Cher’s debate speech on Haiti – you know, the one where she compares the refugee crisis to a dilemma at one of her father’s Beverley Hills garden parties.

While none of the actors’ performances can quite match Alicia’s (as if, guys), they all give it a pretty good go, with Rogen getting particularly into character as the speech reaches its emotional crux, delivering the immortal line ‘May I please remind you that it does not say ‘RSVP’ on the Statue of Liberty!’ Amen to that.

A special mention should also go to Bradley Cooper, who manages to nail Cher’s original pronunciation of ‘Haitians.’

For Jake Gyllenhaal, the reading comes with a life-changing revelation, as he tells the camera ‘I’d like to preface this by saying that what was unfortunate about reading through this for the first time – and I would just also like to say that I just got this – is that I realised that I talk like this, which is a bummer.’

Way harsh.
