Chloe Moretz isn’t one to shy away from kickass female film roles and turns out she’s just as resilient off-screen. A self-proclaimed ‘feminist from birth’, Chloe recently fought back at Kim Kardashian’s ‘body shaming’ allegations, campaigned for ‘outspoken feminist’ Hilary Clinton and even vowed to be America’s youngest female President.
At just nineteen, Chloe is making waves as one of the most influential feminist role models in the industry and took the opportunity to talk girl squads and gender issues on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert as she promoted her new film, Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising.
With the release of the female-orientated film depicting a wild sorority take over the neighbourhood, Colbert asked Chloe why young women don’t want to be identified as feminists anymore. Chloe replied, ‘The world’s become incredibly polarising lately and I don’t really know why. I talked to a lot of young women during the caucusing time and a lot of them were really scared to admit that they were feminists.’
According to Chloe, 'we need to get to a point where it’s more about gender neutrality and less about just feminism.' She told Colbert, ‘I think we need to make it more neutral, because I think the word’s become demonised a little bit.’
