It's a truth universally acknowledged that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are the definition of relationship goals. When such a phrase inevitable makes it into the Oxford English dictionary, we can only assume that the editors will choose to feature an image of the by turns hilarious and adorable couple, because what else could provide a better, more enlightening explanation?
So heart-warming are the pair that when they choose to gush about their relationship on social media (as opposed to when Chrissy makes hilarious jokes about their relationship on social media...) we don't find it remotely embarassing: we set aside our hardened, dead-eyed cynicism for one moment and take it as proof that true love actually exists.
This weekend marked Mother's Day in the US, which, unlike in the UK, where the date depends on when Easter falls, is always celebrated on the second Sunday of May. To celebrate, John took to Instagram to post a sweet tribute to his wife, on her second Mother's Day since welcoming baby Luna (who is fast becoming our favourite A-list offspring).
Captioning a beautiful image of Chrissy walking across a lawn with Luna clutched in her arms, he wrote: 'Happy birthday to my wonderful wife. Luna is so fortunate to have a mom that loves her so deeply and brings her so much joy.' The kicker? Not one but five heart emojis.
Chrissy wasn't the only woman that John chose to pay tribute to. In his next Instagram post, the singer and La La Land star gave shout-outs to both his mother and his mother-in-law, or, as he called them, 'Luna's awesome grandmothers.'
