Just when we thought we couldn't love Chrissy Teigen any more, she goes and exceeds our expectations. This time, the model-slash-Twitter force to be reckoned with has made one woman's dreams come true by paying the tuition fees she needs to study at beauty school. Hero.
Mercedes Edney, a woman from Charlotte in North Carolina, set up a crowd-funding page online to raise around $6,000, an amount that would cover the fees for a beauty aesthetics course.
‘I know sometimes there is a stigma for asking for help, but this is a huge dream of mine and I am willing to do whatever I can to make it,’ she wrote on the page, explaining that her current job situation had disqualified her from applying for financial aid.
‘I wanted to further my skin care knowledge by getting my license in aesthetics. The issue is that because of my current job, the only school that I can attend does not have financial aid and the scholarships that I have looked at, you have to already be enrolled in school and / or be half way through to even be eligible so that isn’t of much help to me either.’
By Friday, Mercedes had raised around $300. At this point, Chrissy stepped in with a $5,605 donation, bringing the total up to her goal amount.
I’ve seen this be your passion for such a long time now,’ Chrissy wrote alongside her donation. ‘So excited to see you fulfil your dream!’
Mercedes took to Twitter to thank the model, who explained she was ‘really excited for [Mercedes] to live out [her] passion.’
