Ever since the first Harry Potter film premiered way back when in 2001, Emma Watson and JK Rowling have been friends. IRL actual friends mind, not the 'friends' who are only spotted together at high profile events where it’s mutually beneficial to stand next to each other and be **SO EXCITED **before moving on to another best friend who they haven’t actually met yet.

Emma Watson wrote a celebratory tweet recognising that the #HeForShe campaign – the initiative that encourages men to support the quest for gender equality - had a Twitter emoji when people tweeted the hashtag.

To which, JK responded:

And it continued…

Understandably, Harry Potter fans were pretty excited by this social exchange of female solidarity...

Looks like nothing has changed.
