Gilmore Girls fan? Grab yourself a large coffee and get ready to return to Stars Hallow: Rory, Lorelai and pretty much every single one of your favourite characters are back in the first official trailer for Netflix’s much-anticipated reboot, A Year In The Life. We’re so over-excited, it’s making us speak really, really fast.

Four 90-minute episodes will arrive on the streaming site on November 25, with each following the three generations of Gilmores through a season – starting in winter and ending in autumn.

Picking up eight years after we originally waved goodbye to the much-loved characters, the new trailer shows us Rory, Lorelai and Emily as they navigate new phases of their lives. After months of teaser clips, rumours and even guest appearances from Michelle Obama herself, the new trailer marks the first time GG fans have been treated to substantial footage from the revival series. Naturally, then, we’ve already watched it on repeat multiple times. Here’s everything we’ve learned…

1. Lorelai and Rory are as fast-talking and quick-witted as ever

Full disclosure: it took us a couple of listens to work out what they were talking about in the opening scene.

2. Emily Gilmore is now sadly a widower…

It’s a nod to the passing of Edward Herrmann, who played Richard Gilmore in the original series.

3. And she’s decided to have a Marie Kondo-esque clear out

Which apparently doesn’t include the huge portrait of Richard she’s commissioned. As Rory puts it, ‘it’s the whole wall…’

4. Stars Hollow does winter really, really well

Seeing the town hall dusted with snow and the Gilmore residence decked out in fairy lights has got us feeling very festive.

5. The Gilmore diet hasn’t had an #eatclean makeover

Reassuringly, Rory and Lorelai are still ordering as much takeout as humanly possible – and are still being taken to task by Luke for their terrible dietary decisions.

6. The Gilmore Girls didn’t enjoy Batman Vs. Superman

Us neither. We’re very excited for the return of the show’s snarky pop culture references.

7. Rory is quite the jet-setter…

…If the establishing shots of London and New York are anything to go by.

8. Kirk gets invited to a Friday night dinner

We’re not sure why yet, but all will be revealed…

9. Lorelai isn’t sure where her life with Luke is heading

‘I thought I knew exactly what I wanted and where I was going, but lately, I don’t know, things seem hazier.’

10. Jess, Dean, Sookie, Logan – they’re all back

We’ve missed you.
