Who runs the world? This week, it’s been 18-year-old India Ross, who has shot to stardom after attending her senior prom last weekend wearing a dress inspired by Beyoncé’s Met Gala 2015 look.

The dress, based on the sheer Givenchy design worn by the singer last year, was created by a St Louis designer called Toi Hall, who teamed up with the teen to fulfil her dream of dressing like Beyoncé at prom.

The dress was made using 2000 hand-sewn jewels, and Ross even recreated queen Bey’s high curled ponytail for her big night.

Since posting pictures on her Instagram page, India has been featured in dozens of US publications for her lookalike moment, and even been interview on Fox News.

“My designer said that making the dress was very time-consuming,” she told one US publication. You can’t just place rhinestones anywhere because it would have looked a mess.

“I knew I was going to look cute because, of course, I chose the design for my dress. When I gave my designer my money I said, ‘Can you make me feel like I’m Beyoncé?’ And that’s what she did. I did not expect for it to blow up like this. It’s been wild.”

The TX Maxx bargain black gown we wore to the leavers’ ball suddenly seems very underwhelming…
