Say it isn't so!
She’s bagged an Oscar and starred in 43 films, but Gwyneth Paltrow recently admitted she is seriously considering giving up Hollywood to focus on growing her lifestyle company Goop.
‘I'm not sure how I'll feel about acting going forward,’ she revealed in an interview with Extra. ‘I'm doing just a teensy little bit here and there when I have time, but I am loving running my business.’
The A-lister explains, ‘you know, my life has been skewing far more heavily towards my business, and it has to right now that we have so much going on. 'We're growing so fast (at my company), and it's such an exciting time to be doing what I'm doing.'
Since lauching her wellness site Goop.com in 2008, Paltrow has, um, enlightened us all with her outrageous health hacks (‘Sex dust’ for breakfast. Bee sting facials. Jade eggs. We could go on…). It’s clear the 42-year old star - who has two children with Chris Martin (Apple; 13 and Moses; 11) – priorities have shifted. In four years she has starred in only two films, and recently held a huge inaugural health-and-wellness summit with over 500 attendees - including celebrity pals Nicole Ritchie, Tory Birch and Cameron Diaz in LA.
Gwyneth has also been vocal about the gender pay gap and sexism in Hollywood. ‘Look, nobody is worth the money that Robert Downey Jr.(her Iron Man co-star) is worth,’ she told Variety. ‘But if I told you the disparity (in pay), you would probably be surprised. . . . Your salary is a way to quantify what you’re worth. If men are being paid a lot more for doing the same thing, it feels shitty.’
