Ivanka Trump has frequently come under fire for her seeming inability to speak up on the issues that she is supposed to care about (see: LGBTQ rights and her father's plans to expel transgender people from the military). Yet in a move sure to surprise many, the First Daughter and Special Adviser to the President has made her feelings on this weekend's Charlottesville rally clear: crititcising the white supremacists and neo-Nazis at the centre of it.

Ivanka's Tweets come after her father Donald Trump pointedly did not condemn the far right for their involvement in this weekend's rally, which resoluted in the death of 32-year-old Heather Heyer. Instead, he blamed 'both sides' for 'this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence.'
The tragedy unfolded on Saturday in the X city of Charlottesville, where a 'Unite the Right' march was taking place. One man drove a car into anti-far right protesters, injuring 19 and killing Heyer. 15 other people were injured during other scuffles throughout the day.
After reports of Trump's comments began drawing criticism online, a White House spokesman clarified his position, saying: 'The president said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry and hatred. Of course that includes white supremacists, KKK, neo-Nazi and all extremist groups.'
It also emerged this weekend that Trump's father, Fred Trump, was arrested for his involvement in a Ku Klux Klan brawl in 1927.
