It's been a busy year for John Boyega. In the last year and a half he's worked on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the critically acclaimed new release Detroit, the upcoming Pacific Rim: Uprising, Woyzech at the Old Vic and also appeared on the front cover of the recent GQ.
Safe to say, he's been working hard. Which means the 25 year old star more than deserved his recent holiday...

So anyway, the British star has been busy, but luckily he found time to appear on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Why is this lucky? Because if he hadn't, we wouldn't now know this hilarious Star Wars anecdote...
Jimmy Fallon asked John if he owns a collection of lightsabers in his house. This was John's response:
'I mean I do, but it's limited... because any time I have family members over, my parents are kind of just like: "You should give one of the lightsabers to the kids".
'And that's when my face becomes more straight than it's ever been.
'And then I have to, like, forcefully go: "Haaa.... May the force be with you".

Also in the interview, Jimmy uncovered some old modelling shots of John, 'stock photos' of him in a college brochure. As he brought them out and revealed them to the audience, John laughed and said: 'Disclaimer, I needed the money!'
The photos were actually taken for a college awareness brochure to encourage children to choose further education. John said he had earned £50 from the pictures, which had gone towards the £300 drama school fees he was paying per term at the time.
If that was what led to his rise to fame, thank goodness for those snaps is all we can say!
