While we know a lot about Prince George's interests and hobbies - namely flying, helicopters and of course endangered Australian animals like bilbys, little is known about his younger sister Princess Charlotte's likes and dislikes - until now.

Yesterday, while visiting the Princess Diana garden at Kensington Palace with Prince William and Prince Harry, Kate Middleton told the Royal National Ballet's director Tamara Rojo that her youngest daughter 'absolutely loves to dance'.

On hearing the news, the ballet aficionado invited the little princess to come and learn to dance at the English National Ballet's 'My First Ballet' programme - something that Charlotte's father Prince William graciously accepted, reportedly saying: 'We will definitely have to come.'

The news about the young princess's favourite pasttime comes after her father revealed that he was particularly impressed by his mother Princess Diana's dance moves. Indeed, the late Princess of Wales was famous for her talent for dancing, notably causing a stir when she was photographed being spun around by Grease star John Travolta at a White House dinner in 1985.

'She loved dancing, she was a fantastic dancer,' he recently said. 'We've been going through her music collection recently and there's some quite eclectic stuff in there. She was elated by the skill.'

The Prince also recently opened up about how he is keeping his mother's memory alive for her grandchildren, saying: 'So we've got more photos up round the house now of her and we talk about her a bit and stuff. And it's hard because obviously Catherine didn't know her, so she cannot really provide that - that level of detail. So I - I do regularly put George or Charlotte to bed, talk about her and just try and remind them that there are two grandmothers, there were two grandmothers in their lives, and so it's important that they - they know who she was and that she existed.'
