It’s no secret Leonardo DiCaprio is kind of passionate about the environment.

He was made the UN Messenger of Peace back in 2014, he was executive producer on a new cut of Cowspiracy in 2015 and his own climate change documentary Before The Flood was released in October.

It’s also no secret that Donald Trump being elected the President of the United States is pretty disastrous for the planet. As someone who denies the issue (remember that Tweet?) and surrounds himself with big climate change conspirators, Trump heading up one of the most powerful and influential countries in the world is a scary prospect.

That’s where Leo comes in. The actor-turned-environmentalist gave Trump’s daughter Ivanka the Before The Flood DVD, The New York Times reported, in a seeming attempt to convince the President-Elect’s clan global warming is more than an elaborate hoax.

While Trump has said he’ll pull out of the Paris Agreement and cancel all US donations to UN climate change programmes, Ivanka is including it as one of her signature issues, Politico has reported. She's also meeting with politician and environmentalist Al Gore.

Trump's views on global warming are even more of a stark shock after Barack Obama, who featured in Before The Flood in conversation with Leo at the White House.

Fingers crossed Ivanka gets her choice for the next movie night at Trump Towers...
