Olivia Wilde knows a thing or two about rock ‘n’ roll. She is, of course, starring in Mick Jagger’s new TV series Vinyl - a drama about the record industry in 1970’s New York.

So it seems rather fitting that the Hollywood actress would work within the music industry in some capacity – and has now directed Red Hot Chili Peppers new music video for their song ‘Dark Necessities’.

The A-list actress, who is pregnant with her second child, told ET: "I'm really proud of it. They are incredibly creative people and they're so good at what they do," she says of directing band mates Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and Josh Klinghoffer. "They're so interesting that you really just have to let them have a free space to play in and set them free and they just do 90 percent of the work for you."

The music video has already garnered over 6 million views on YouTube, since its debut on the band's Facebook yesterday. The song itself is classic Red Hot Chili Peppers, with the funkiest beat (just listen). But Olivia’s visual eye has come in mighty handy…‘70s-style wallpaper. A punk rock pink drum kit. And the coolest athleisure wear.

The video also features female skateboarders Carmen Shafer, Amanda Caloia, Amanda Powell and Noelle Mulligan.

#Goals.

We can’t wait to see more music videos like this, Olivia...
