Last night, stars donned their finest attire in a bid to impress the waiting fashion jury who were quick to judge their sartorial skills as they arrived at the Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre. Yes, awards season reached its pinnacle last night as the 2017 Oscars took place. The A-list may have won big, but how did they fair in the style stakes?

For the prestigious ceremony, Emma Stone lived up to her golden girl status in a beaded Givenchy gown. While Jessica Biel and Nicole Kidman followed suit in metallic gowns to rival the sparkle of the Oscar trophy.

Other sartorial winners worth noting are Janelle Monae who donned an eclectic gown by Elie Saab while Alicia Vikander stuck to red carpet favourite Louis Vuitton as she opted for a Victoriana style lace gown.

But the A-list not only have to curate the perfect look for the awards ceremony as the after parties require just as much sartorial consideration.

Vanity Fair and Elton John host the prestigious after parties to which celebrities far and wide wear their best attire. And last night, the A-list didn’t disappoint.

The metallic trend continued to reign strong in the sartorial stakes as Amy Adams, Katy Perry and Thandie Newton all opted for the sparkly hue come evening.
