A feast fit for a (future) King...
Prince George has it pretty cushty: a doting mum and dad, succession to the throne, a designer wardrobe to die for, and access to an exquisite school dinner menu.
The four-year-old, who recently enrolled at Thomas Battersea, will likely be treated to the fanciest school lunch we've ever seen. In fact, it's so fancy that it will put your homemade, work packed lunch to shame.
Take, for example, a sample lunch menu for a casual Thursday: children can opt for the protein main course, which includes "free range chicken minced chilli con carne with organic grated cheese and cucumber batons", a fish option of "baked smoked mackerel on a bed of puy lentils", or a vegetarian option of "freshly prepared three bean ratatouille". There is also always a salad bar and soup-of-the-day at every lunch.
And for dessert? Well, Prince George can feast on a fresh fruit platter, steamed jam and coconut sponge, a healthy tropical smoothie, or even a delectable raisin cookie. On top of this, children are offered a mid-morning snack, which consists of organic milk or water, with fruit, cheese, or raisin bread. And that's just a sampling of what the chefs at Thomas' have whipped up.
A statement on the school's website reads: "Each term the catering team develop a range of ideas and dishes with an emphasis on healthy cooking, full flavour and presentation. Our goal is to not only persuade pupils to eat but, more importantly, to enjoy a balanced diet whilst at school.
"At Thomas's we have a three week menu cycle, repeated once. This changes with the season, so that we offer lighter lunches during the lighter days and more substantial meals when the days turn cold."
Can we join Thomas Battersea, too, please?
