Last week, Prince Harry suggested that no one in the Royal Family wants to take the throne but assured the nation, 'we will carry out our duties at the right time'.
And today, in a candid interview with the Mail on Sunday, the 32-year-old has admitted that he was tempted to leave the Monarchy in favour of an 'ordinary life'. He told the newspaper: "There was a time I felt I wanted out."
Referring to the Royal Family as 'The Firm', the prince continued: "But then I decided to stay in [The Firm] and work out a role for myself."
Prince Harry granted the decade he spent serving in the Army responsible for helping him to feel 'normal'.
"I wasn’t a Prince, I was just Harry," he admitted. "Being in the army was the best escape I’ve ever had. I felt as though I was really achieving something."
But Harry has finally found his calling, as he intends to follow in the footsteps of Princess Diana.
He added that he and William are 'incredibly passionate with our charities and they have been chosen because they are on the path shown to me by our mother’.
